At the Dutch Neuroscience Meeting (DNM), PhD student Kevin Batenburg won the poster prize for his poster on the development of a human three-dimensional screening platform of tau pathology.
As a member of the Molecular Neurodegeneration Group, Kevin develops a new system to study tau pathology in human neurons and astrocytes. For this, he utilizes stem cell-technology, three-dimensional culturing and advanced microscopy techniques. His poster highlighted the 3D-culturing of human neurons, and the efficacy of virtual-reality glasses for depth perception of fluorescent data.
