The NoC team is happy and proud to present their newest publications!
In the first study, out in Science Advances, we examined the role of peptidergic neuromodulation of the Locus Coeruleus (LC) in stress and anxiety. We combined our favorite techniques (ephys, fiber photometry, chemogenetics) and showed that Neuropeptide Y (NPY)-expressing neurons that surround the LC dampen noradrenergic cell activity and promote adaptive responses to adverse environments. You can read more about our study here.
In our second publication, out in Pharmacological Reviews, we combined forces with 6 other labs around the world to compile an experts’ review on LC neuropeptides. We summarized the state-of-the-field on LC peptidergic inputs and outputs, cognate receptors, and the interplay between noradrenergic and peptidergic (co)transmission. Beyond serving as a useful resource for the LC community, our review positions peptidergic signaling as a key driver of LC heterogeneity and modular function.
We would like to thank our co-authors for their significant contributions, it was great to work and learn together!
Happy reading!

Welcome to the Team, Laura!
We’re excited to welcome Laura Supiot to our team 🙂 Freshly out of her PhD, Laura is passionate about neuronal circuitries, focusing on how stress affects multiple physiological levels, from cell modulation to communication within (sub)populations and across brain regions.
Laura brings lots of enthusiasm and great expertise and will be joining us as post-doc researcher. We look forward to working and discovering together. Welcome aboard, Laura!
