Thanks to the grant, Groen will be doing research at University College London for two years.
Martine Groen (CNCR, Section of Integrative Neurophysiology) received a Rubicon grant from the Dutch Organization for Scientific Research (NWO). She will do research on whether individual dendrites of brain cells are able to recognize visual stimuli.
Through Rubicon, NWO newly graduated scientists receive the opportunity to gain research experience at leading, international institutions. A total of one hundred applications were submitted. Only twenty were honoured.
