About CNCR

As of 2008, the Center for Neurogenomics and Cognitive Research (CNCR) is the operational name of the Department of Neurosciences at the Faculty for Earth and Life Sciences (FALW, Vrije Universiteit). The FALW faculty has a long standing history on Neurobiology dating back to 70s of last century.

The CNCR generates integrated research programs from genes to behavior, each combining mouse and human studies (see Research). It operates as an expertise center of the Amsterdam Neuroscience on the VU campus. The CNCR is the coordinating institute of several national (see www.neurobasic.com) and international consortia (see our international network).

Currently, the chair of the CNCR is held by Prof. dr. AB Smit.
