Victor Lamme delivered an entertaining and thought provoking keynote lecture on "The science and adventure of neuromarketing".

In the Brain &Mind minor course “Mind & Machine”, students are challenged to develop a business case around the current trends in modeling and decoding neuronal systems. To showcase both the scientific and commercial possibilities in the field, Victor Lamme delivered an entertaining and thought provoking keynote lecture on ‘neuromarketing’ and his recently founded company “Neurensics”.
Viktor Lamme is one of the key opinion leaders in the field of cognitive neuroscience and author of the book “De vrije wil bestaat niet”.

The lecture was spot on. It triggered fascination for the scientific progress in the cross field of cognitive neuroscience and machine learning, as well as for the business model of Neurensics. Needless to say, the prospects of commercials being tuned to subconscious decision-making processes in the brain is controversial in different respects, and evoked a lively discussion both during and after the lecture. The audience left with greater insight and fruit for thought about the role of the mind and machines even for complex processes such as choosing your partner or buying a house…
