Short CV

2025 – present PhD candidate Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam
2023 – 2025 MSc Brain and Cognitive Sciences (research) University of Amsterdam
2020 – 2023 BSc Neuroscience University of Bristol

I discovered my fascination for electrophysiology during my Bachelor’s in Neuroscience at the University of Bristol. This interest grew further during my Master’s in Brain and Cognitive Sciences at the University of Amsterdam, where I had the opportunity to apply electrophysiological techniques in two research internships. In these projects, I studied how excitatory/inhibitory imbalances contribute to early Alzheimer’s disease pathology and how NaV1.6 sodium channels shape action potential kinetics in human and mouse pyramidal neurons. I am passionate about understanding human-specific mechanisms of brain function and how these processes contribute to cognition and disease.
