Sleep and Consciousness

We investigate how the brain generates dreams and other conscious experiences during sleep, and what they can reveal about the neural basis of consciousness. By combining detailed reports of subjective experiences with high-density EEG, neuroimaging, physiological recordings and pharmacological manipulations, we study these mechanisms in both healthy individuals and people with sleep and neuropsychiatric disorders.
