Research
Why are some individuals more likely than others to develop mental health problems? What makes one person susceptible to addiction while another is resilient in the face of the same life circumstances? My research aims to understand how individual differences in genetics and environment lead to different mental health outcomes. In particular, I am interested in how (genetic) heterogeneity may underlie different pathways in the development of alcohol and substance misuse, and how such pathways overlap with other psychiatric and behavioral disorders.
