How to reach us

Public transport - From Central Station

Take the express tram 51 (16 minutes) or tram 5 (25 minutes).

Public transport - From Station Zuid / WTC

Take the express tram 51 (1 minute), direction Poortwachter, or tram 5 (1 minute), direction Poortwachter. It is a 10 minute walk from Station Zuid/WTC to the VU.

Car

The A-10 Amsterdam ring road can be reached from all directions. Follow the A-10 to the Zuid/Amstelveen exit S 108. Turn left at the end of the sliproad onto Amstelveenseweg: after about three hundred meters (at the VU Hospital building) turn left again onto De Boelelaan (the road that runs underneath the Hospital). The VU University Amsterdam can also be reached via city routes S 108 and S 109.

Parking

There is a limited amount of parking space around the VU University Amsterdam itself on De Boelelaan, which has parking bays, and also in the Van der Boechorststraat and the Karel Lotsylaan. There is a large parkinglot adjacent to the Hospital (entrance at the Van der Boechorststraat, North of the De Boelelaan.

Schiphol Airport

Travellers arriving at Schiphol can take the train to Station Zuid/ WTC (see ‘Public transport: from Station Zuid/WTC’)
