Research
My background involves classical and evolutionary genetics, eventually pivoting to computational biology and finally pursuing a PhD in statistical genetics of the brain. My previous research involved the gut microbiome, differential gene expression analysis and using DNA as a means to store digital data.
Now at the Complex Trait Genetics department of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, I aim to perform research into the mechanisms underlying Alzheimer’s disease and bipolar disorder. This will involve various proteomic, genomic and transcriptomic approaches to answer these research questions.
