Lara joined the lab of Matthijs Verhage as PhD candidate in 2021. She investigates how STXBP1 mutations affect the functioning of human (iPS derived) nerve cells, using electrophysiological and imaging techniques. She also works on a new cellular model that more closely resembles nerve cell connections in the brain.
